Buccaneers WR Antonio Brown tossed from joint practice with Titans

Antonio Brown will Antonio Brown. Though he’s been generally on the quiet side since joining Tom Brady in Tampa Bay, Buccaneers wide receiver Antonio Brown let his true colors show on Thursday.

Brown and cornerback Chris Jackson exchanged punches in a one-on-one drill during a joint practice with the Tennessee Titans. According to live training camp practice tweets from The Athletic’s Greg Auman, Brown wanted a flag for contact, and some pleasantries were shared. Tampa Bay Times reporter Rick Stroud tweeted moments later that Brown ripped Jackson’s helmet off and, consequently, was tossed from practice.

After cooler heads prevailed, Brown was brought back into practice, but the tone was already set.

Yes, folks, football is back. And fierce competition packed with ripe emotion is one of the things we love about the game.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the Tennessee Titans Saturday at 7:30 p.m. eastern at Raymond James Stadium.
